Bob Kinghorn has enjoyed square dancing as his favorite hobby since 1986 after taking lessons in
Lincoln, Nebraska. He and his wife, Scooter, had the privilege of sharing their wedding in 1988 with
many square dancing friends from Lincoln and the surrounding areas.
Shortly after they were married, Bob and Scooter opened and operated Scooter's Square Dance Shoppe
for nearly six years and have been very involved in all of the area's square dancing activities. Bob and
Scooter have served as President of the Nebraska State Square and Round Dance Association for two
years and held offices in Club, Federation, and state levels.
One of Bob's goals has always been to become a square dance caller, but being the owner of his own
business could not seem to find the time. However, in 1995 a caller friend left a record with Bob and he
decided to learn the song. Before long he was attending a Caller's College and since then has attended
several Caller's Training schools.
Today, Bob is a regular caller for the Prairie Squares Club in Lincoln and has called thought Nebraska and
a few of the neighboring states. He is a member of CALLERLAB and is BMI /ASCAP licensed. Bob call's
Basic, Mainstream, and Plus and also calls for many one night party dances, lines, mixers, and demos.
He also offers Square Dance Lessons at several different times throughout the year for all who want to
join in the fun.
